Organisation has already begun for next year’s Lapraik Weekend which is aiming at something special to mark its 10th anniversary.
One idea is to persuade previous winners of the Poetry Competition to take part again in 2017, something which has created a bit of excitement in the Burns world.
The organisers are also looking for ideas to encourage young people to participate more in the week. This will probably include the previous activites with Scots Language experts teaching children the art of speaking Scots.
There is also the possibility of some decedents of John Lapraik travelling from Australia to attend the weekend.
