Covenanters Trail
at Muirkirk Walking Festival

Saturday 14th June 2008 - 10.30am leaving from the IFE Wing

• The trail leaves the IFE Wing (location map) by mini bus to Nether Wellwood, people walk out to Cameron stone and back to the bus
• You are then dropped of at electricity sub-station where you join the River Ayr Way to walk past William Adams stone
  coming out at Upper Wellwood where you are collected by the bus
• The bus transports you back to the IFE Wing for a snack break.
• After the break you are taken to Preisthill to walk out to John Browns stone and back to the bus.
• You are then taken to the old graveyard at the Parish Church to see John Smith and Charles Howatson gravestones before
  returning back once more to the IFE Wing.
• The distance is approximately 4 miles walking (19 miles including transport).
• Terrain is moderate to difficult
• Time is about 3 hours.
